MY 2012 BLOGGING RESOLUTION

Ok, i will admit it, I have totally fallen off of the blogging bandwagon....i blame pinterest! haha I have made a resolution for the new year to update my blog at least once a month, i feel that is reasonable for me..so here is my LONG CATCH UP of what has been happening with us the past few months...i vow to be better! Here is a few highlights from January thus far!

Brooklyn graduated from nursery to SUNBEAMS

The reason i think this is so cute is because, although the pictures aren't the best quality, you can see what has happened every Sunday for the past 18 months. Every since B and her best friend Ethan across the street started going to nursery, he will come get her, and hold her hand all the way down the hallway to their classroom! It is the cutest thing ever!! Their first day of sunbeams (the class for 3 year olds) it was no different. I will be sad when they think each other has cooties... hahaha...

B and Ethan all grown up in Sunbeams...

Poor jax has been teething...and i mean seriously teething...four teeth at the same time. As you can see...it has been a LITTLE rough....

On a happier note, Jax is slowly graduating to real people food and well...as you can see he is LOVING IT!

He is happy to be eating big kid food..although as soon as he tasted big kid food he is kind of boycotting vegetables...

Jax and dakota are best friends...this is Jax's new favorite place to hang out, my bedroom window where he can see outside!

Jax went from crawling, to crawling up stairs, to pulling himself up on stuff all in about 3 and a half weeks..gratefully he has only fallen down the stairs once! haha. This is his new favorite place to camp out.

I just love him...

and he LOVES being mobile! i'm not sure how i feel about it yet..i think i would have been happy with another month or two of 'sit in one spot and play with toys'...

and last but not least...it finally feels like winter in Utah. We didn't have an ounce of snow for Christmas, i haven't shoveled the walks, we've been to the park. And all of a sudden it was 12 degrees and snowing..how rude? SOooo....I let B play "SUPER B" off the stairs while i played with the sports mode on my camera..hahaha...yes people, this is what we do at our house when it snows haha..and i tell myself i don't have time to update my blog.
she seriously loved it....

so there you have it...that is what we've been doing with our time!! Everyone is doing well, we are glad for a fresh start in 2012 and are looking forward to lots of FUN TIMES!

DECEMBER HAPPENINGS

December was a seriously busy month for us but it was SO FUN! B actually understood Christmas and was excited about EVERYTHING, the lights, santa, the treats, the tree, baby Jesus and the nativity... you name it, she thought it was the greatest thing in the world. here is a run down of the fun things that happened during December:

B's Pre School Christmas Program
B had a christmas program with her pre school where they all recited parts of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas" and then sang a bunch of songs..they were all supposed to wear their christmas pajamas and it was so cute...

Well, me and B had a fight over which pajamas she was going to wear. I had her cute flannel pant pajamas picked out for her, but she protested.."but MOM!!! I need to look pretty for my program and these pants are NOT going to make me look pretty!! I need to wear my nightgown!!" Uhh...seriously?? At least the nightgown is red...festive but not mom's first choice..

B and her boyfriend across the street Ethan...notice B's "paper self' on the chair next to her. She helped make it...can you see the resemblance? haha..

B did a great job. She said BOTH of her parts like a total champ!

B's first Dance Recital
B's dance studio had a small christmas recital. she was in a 'dolly' dance, they were supposed to be Christmas Dolls..

striking a pose as usual.....

The three year old "dolls"...

B was concentrating very hard on her dance teacher here to make sure she didn't miss a step hahaha....but she did great! her dance was about 20 seconds long but oh so cute!

Sweet Craig got her flowers and everything. He is too sweet. B carried them around for about 3 days! haha

CHRISTMAS STUFF

B had a GREAT time decorating a gingerbread house this year...notice the nightgown again...i swear she does have other clothes..

B was super stoked about meeting Santa again this year...she was so excited to see him!
Jax...well...not as stoked to see Santa...maybe next year..

Christmas morning was great, jax was super cute and happy. He was more excited about the boxes that the toys came in...haha....

All B wanted for christmas was singing rapunzel...good thing Santa loves her....since singing rapunzel only SINGS ONE song..and not even the whole song...*sigh*

B ended up opening most of jax's presents for him but they had a great time. By the end of the day it was like toy OVERLOAD..the didn't even know what to do with themselves haha...

B's first Dentist VISIT!
Shortly after Christmas we made a visit to see Uncle Chris for a dentist appointment. B was a TOTAL CHAMP! She let him polish, rinse and fluoride her teeth....i was shocked..so was craig..and hence, it is here on the blog haha...

NOVEMBER HAPPENINGS

November was a great month for us...although i happened to go an entire month and only snap a few pictures...not sure how that happened..hahaha....

We started a new tradition in our family this year, our 'grateful' tree. My neighbor gave me the idea and B absolutely loved it. We cut a tree out of butcher paper and everyday we would sit down and write things that we were grateful for, we'd do as many as we could think of everyday. After a few days i was sure i was running out of things to be grateful for, but it is amazing when you really start to look at your life JUST how many things we take for granted that are a huge blessing. Definitely something we will continue to do in the future.

We spent Thanksgiving break in St. George with Craig's whole family!!! It was SO FUN, B had such a great time hanging out with her cousins. Funny that as picture happy as i am this was the only picture i walked away with....B with her cousin Presley :)

THE POST OF ALL POSTS

Well Hello there blog-o-sphere! Long time no post!! Not sure where the last two months have gone but here is a rundown of all the fun things we've been doing since the first of September!!!

HALLOWEEN
This is one of my favorite holidays, and it just got better when i had kids.

Brooklyn changed her mind about what she wanted to be about 3 times, and we finally landed on Minnie Mouse!

Jaxon was a 'chunky monkey' this year...he is a HUGE kid so i thought it was fitting!

Jax controlling the candy bowl at the trunk or treat. This was right before he knocked it over all over the ground....

Brooklyn was SO excited to go trick or treating this year with her cousin Trey. They spent a good majority of the night being towed around by Uncle Chris in the red wagon.

This is how Jax spent the night trick or treating!

After so long we told the other kids ot walk and put jax in the wagon! much better!!

THE PUMPKIN PATCH
I took b to get a pumpkin at a cute little pumpkin patch. We walked around for like an hour trying to find the perfect pumpkin.

I thought this pumpkin was perfect...B thought it was too big and dumped it out...

Jax chillin' out in the pumpkin truck...me and my friend Keri made fools of ourselves trying to get him to smile at the camera, and it worked...thanks Keri :)

After an hour Brooklyn finally picked out two of the smallest pumpkins in the patch for and Jaxon! They were too small to even carve haha...

JAX'S FIRST HAIRCUT!!!
Jaxon's hair grew like a chia pet all of a sudden, so I thought it was time for a haircut!
Before: the picture doesn't do justice, but his hair was so long....

Hangin' out in his car at cookie cutters...

He did great for most of the haircut!!

And then things went south...

and he got angry....

and cried...rather loudly..haha

But he looks so handsome with his short do....

MAKING COOKIES WITH THE FLOUR QUEEN
B loves to make cookies...especially sugar cookies so i let her help me make some halloween ones. Wow...the pictures don't adequately show JUST HOW MUCH flour was all over her, the chair AND my kitchen....but we had fun!

A JAXON UPDATE
Jax is growing like a WEED. At his six month appointment he already weighed almost 22 pounds. He is bigger than Brooklyn was at a year. But he is so fun!

The Utah utes have been aweful this year but Jax has been my best little buddy at the football games, even the cold ones!

He started eating rice cereal and wow...as you can see it has not been the smoothest transition....

He is always sticking his tongue out...hilarious little kid...

seriously...such a happy, easy going kid. I love my little guy....

OUR WHIRLWIND TRIP TO CALIFORNIA

We went on a family trip to California for a few days!

B was so excited to see her cousins that just moved there! We had a fun dinner in La Habra with them! Miss you Engh's! After out dinner we went to our hotel and B woke up at midnight with the WORST CROUP she has ever had. We spent the night at the InstaCare and finally got to bed at 4:30 AM...needless to say..it made our disneyland day interesting...

At the happiest place on earth with one kid that was sicker than a dog and Jax..well..less than thrilled at the moment! But, dangit..i had to have my picture!

After only 3 rides in Fantasyland this is how my little princess ended up...poor thing...so sick...

She perked up just enough to go meet the princesses at the Princess lunch at Ariel's grotto...best money i've ever spent in my life...right after it was over she asked to go back to the hotel to rest...

This is how we spent the majority of our disneyland day...

After she woke up we went for one more hour before it closed...bless Craig's heart he let her drive on the Autopia..she's never had more fun in her life...craig got whiplash....

We headed to San Diego the next morning and took B to Pacific beach that afternoon. It was freezing but was my favorite part of our trip..
Since it was freezing i figured B wouldn't get very wet..maybe stick her toes in...uhhh..WRONG AGAIN! Kid was splashing around and chasing birds and ended up wet to her chest. haha...
We got to see some fun stuff at Sea World...
And then we finished up our trip at our favorite california restaurant Casa de Pico. It was a quick and crazy trip but i loved it..

And that folks is what we've been doing for the past 8 weeks....whew...will post again before December! I promise!
